You probably have heard that Bikram yoga consists of 26 postures but that’s not correct. Bikram used creative numbering by combining some postures in order to use the number 26 for marketing purposes. It had something to do with there being 26 letters in the alphabet so he could say “it’s as simple as A to Z,” or something like that. In fact, it’s even more confusing than that because some people quote him as saying, “26 postures including 2 breathing exercises” and others as, “26 postures and 2 breathing exercises,” but as you can see below, both of those are inaccurate.
