Cleve

Cleveland Willis

Owner, Instructor

Cleve, the former lead singer of the band Rockets to Ruin, became certified to teach hot yoga by Tony Sanchez in 2013. With his partner, Ahoo, he took over ownership of SHY in November, 2017.

Cleve has also studied Vinyasa Yoga with Jared McCann.

Mary Ablett

Instructor

Mary began her Hot Yoga practice in 2006, while living in Fort Worth Texas. In the beginning, it was the physical challenge that was most attractive. However, as her practice evolved, she began to understand and appreciate the slow, peaceful, meditative quality of yoga. It was the connection she experienced between her mind and body that became the primary reward. She especially enjoyed the release she felt on many different levels.

After many years of practice, and in an effort to deepen her own yoga practice, she participated in a six-month Teacher Training and Apprenticeship Program with Radiance Bikram Yoga. She began teaching in February of 2014 and strongly believes that the best teachers remain life-long students.

Hannah

Hannah Bullock

Instructor

Hannah took her first yoga class in her home state of New Hampshire at Bikram Yoga Portsmouth in 2009 and has been hooked ever since! She continued the practice at Fuel Hot Yoga in Athens, GA and gives credit to the yoga for helping manage stress while completing her doctoral degree. Outside of the hot room, Hannah spends her days in lab as a research microbiologist. Outside the lab, Hannah spends her free time… outside, going on outdoor adventures with her husband, pup, and friends.

Hannah completed her Bikram Yoga training with Still Hot Yoga in 2019.

Deb Croswell

Instructor

For years, off and on, Deb worked in the film industry in Atlanta doing set design and camera operation.

Deb received her Bikram Yoga certification in Spring, 2003.

Elizabeth Driscoll

Elizabeth Driscoll

Instructor

As a classically trained ballet dancer of nearly 20 years, I struggled to find an activity that fulfilled me in the same way dancing had. After a couple of years of exploring other types of exercise, I finally came across a brand new hot yoga studio in Athens, GA. The moment I entered the hot room, I knew I had found my true passion. The hot 26/2 series reminded me so much of ballet class; the mirror, the postures, the intensity, everything. When I moved to Atlanta in 2014, I continued my practice at Still Hot. In the fall of 2019, I left for Australia to do my teacher training. I have since moved back to Atlanta and have found my way back to Still Hot; this time as teacher and a student. As a practitioner for 10 years now, it is truly an honor to be back at the studio that helped build my solid foundation.

Jackie

Jackie Hatch

Instructor

Jackie is a native Atlantan and has always enjoyed and been a part of sports, exercise and anything active. She lives in Decatur with her husband, who owns LexTechs of Atlanta, a Lexus and Toyota service and repair company. She loves everything about living in Decatur-- especially being a part of the community at Still Hot Yoga.

"Yoga practice for me started in 2010 at SHY. I was immediately hooked on the Bikram practice and continue to find benefits from it regularly. It is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself."

Alan Hollie

Instructor

Originally from Opelousas, LA (Go Ragin Cajuns!), Alan has been teaching Yoga for over 7 years. Drawing from a background in dance and sports, Alan brings a special emphasis on form and muscle alignment to his yoga practice. Outside of the studio, Alan loves the B52’s, his husband of nearly 29 years, all animals and margaritas! Alan’s favorite posture (used as a barometer of how his day is progressing) is standing forehead to knee!

Missy Jones

Missy Jones

Instructor

Missy started her career as a professional educator before transitioning to teaching yoga full-time. She attended teacher training in 2008 with Bikram Choudhury and has continued her education in yoga and other fitness modalities throughout her tenure as a yoga teacher. She strives to help students understand the whys and hows of movement to help empower individuals create change. In addition to Bikram method yoga, Missy also holds certifications in vinyasa (500RYT), pilates, barre method training, TRX, and has had extensive training in Ghosh yoga, yin yoga, and yoga anatomy and kinesiology. She conducts yoga teacher trainings as well as teacher trainings in the pyroPILATES hybrid method that she created in 2011.

Ayodele Murphy

Instructor

As a youth, Ayodele was exposed to many forms of ancient physical, mental, and spiritual practices. On a particular visit from college, her mother took her to a hot yoga class. Less than 20 minutes into the practice, while standing there, hot as all else, something clicked. It was like magic and she never looked backed. Beginning with a Hatha Raja practice, then moving to Bikram yoga, Ayodele has completed multiple trainings, and workshops, most recently including Core26+ and Thef Neteru Sema Paut.

Anand Nair

Anand Nair

Instructor

Anand started his yoga journey at an early age in his elementary and middle school under his teacher late Shri Basant Kumar Pandey. He got trained in Yoga Kriya and Hath Yoga practice as a part of the school curriculum.

Anand considers Swami Vivekananda as his spiritual guru. Swami Vivekananda's work introduced him to Patanjali's Ashtanga yoga principles that he uses as the foundation of his current practice and teaching. Since 2001 Anand is practicing Hot Yoga and other modern forms to complement his traditional knowledge and practice. In 2010 Fall, Anand took his sabbatical to train under Bikram Choudary, who created the original hot yoga.

Anand's mission is to educate as many lives as possible in his lifetime to the beautiful science of yoga.

Cathy Peterson

Instructor

The precision, elegance, and simplicity inherent in the Bikram yoga discipline is what drew Cathy to the practice in 2007, and what still keeps her immersed in it over a decade later -- both as a student and as an instructor. Having made the change from litigation attorney to yoga instructor, she completed teacher training in 2010, obtaining supplemental certification from advanced instructor Tony Sanchez in 2014. To this day, she still sees that high level of determination and excellence from every student in each class she teaches, and within herself for every class she takes. Although this is a type of practice which demands one's full attention and commitment throughout the class, it's also a yoga discipline that is completely accessible to every single person -- irrespective of age, body type, or level of fitness. Whatever you are able to do in any given class, you will always be the better for having done it.

Janet Prsecher

Instructor

Janet first walked into the hot room about 15 years ago – and never looked back. Her approach to the yoga has changed from an effective form of exercise to a lifestyle choice. Janet finds peace in the hot room and feels better prepared to face life’s daily challenges after a hot and sweaty Bikram class.

Janet believes in the power of the dialogue – and her classes reflect this. The dialogue has everything you need for a safe and meaningful practice. The key is to listen... which can be very challenging at times. As is often said in class the 26 postures are the same but you are different every time you walk into the hot room. Focus, concentration and listening are key in Janet’s classes.

At the age of 50 Janet decided to take a break from her corporate life and attend teacher training in Thailand. Soon after successful completion of the 9 week training course she returned to corporate life and her consistent practice but with an even deeper understanding and appreciation for the Bikram series. Three years later Janet decided to give teaching a try and is proud to be leading classes at SHY – where she began her practice.

She encourages you to show up on your mat and trust the process.

Angie Wells

Angie Wells

Instructor

Angie Wells took her first Bikram Yoga class in 2014. A former professional dancer, Angie owned a ballet school in Brevard, NC and needed to trade in her running shoes for a form of exercise that was conducive to her heavy teaching load. She felt absolutely liberated during that very first class because for the first time in the six months since her husband had died suddenly and tragically, all she could do was focus on what the teacher said and be in the present moment. Bikram yoga helped Angie to heal and move forward with life, and she has practiced daily ever since. Angie closed the physical location of her school in 2020 due to the pandemic, but she continues to teach virtually. She graduated from Ida Ripley’s Original Hot Yoga Academy in 2021 and relocated to Atlanta to be with her new life partner. A certified teacher with the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum, Angie also teaches at local ballet schools and is excited to join the community of Still Hot Yoga.

Kara

Kara Yonker

Instructor

Kara brings one of her core life philosophies to each and every class: if you don’t challenge yourself, you can’t change yourself. Kara’s high energy delivery of the dialogue keeps you in the present and focused on the challenge in every posture. Kara’s goal for each of her students is that they feel great about themselves, knowing they’ve accomplished something for their body, mind and spirit.

Kara’s love for the practice of Bikram Yoga began in Vancouver, Canada. While walking her dog on a cold, rainy day in January 2011, she happened by a surreal, almost mystical scene: a Bikram studio where a dozen, half-naked bodies in all forms were radiating steam into the sky. Intrigued, she did some quick research and soon took her first class. Wearing long pants and a tee-shirt, Kara thought she was going to die after the first 30 minutes and left the room near the end of class. But she went back the next day and the next one after that. She learned a lesson that she repeats often to her students – the battle is nearly won just by showing up.

This has been everything on the court, as far as, mobility and for “Hoopers” to stay youthful, physically, and to keep playing.

Hot yoga helps to keep the range of motion in the body, the heat and humidity has been key for the joints, bones, and muscles. There is nothing like it, nothing compares to it.
