Cleve, the former lead singer of the band Rockets to Ruin, became certified to teach hot yoga by Tony Sanchez in 2013. With his partner, Ahoo, he took over ownership of SHY in November, 2017.
Cleve has also studied Vinyasa Yoga with Jared McCann.
SHY founder and former owner Eric Jennings practices and teaches yoga in the style and method originated by Bishnu Ghosh, acclaimed Indian physical culturist. He holds certifications from Ghosh Yoga College of India (2016), Yogic Physical Culture Academy (2013) and Bikram Yoga, Inc. (2001).
Rebecca practices and teaches yoga in the style and method originated by Bishnu Ghosh, acclaimed Indian physical culturist. She holds certifications from Lighthouse Yoga, Yogic Physical Culture Academy and Bikram Yoga, Inc.
Blanche has completed teacher trainings in vinyasa, ashtanga, and yin yoga. She has studied with Jared McCann, David Swenson, Erinn Lewis, Mary Jarvis, Afton Carraway, Gianna Purcell, and Kathy Durham. Her classes focus on breath and finding stillness while encouraging students to bring curiosity and playfulness to challenge themselves in different ways with their practice.
Originally from Opelousas, LA (Go Ragin Cajuns!), Alan has been teaching Yoga for over 7 years. Drawing from a background in dance and sports, Alan brings a special emphasis on form and muscle alignment to his yoga practice. Outside of the studio, Alan loves the B52’s, his husband of nearly 29 years, all animals and margaritas! Alan’s favorite posture (used as a barometer of how his day is progressing) is standing forehead to knee!
Rue considers himself a student who leads fellow students in practice. He received his 500 hour Teaching certificate from B Free Hot Yoga in 2017. Rue practices and teaches Bikram Yoga, hot flow, flow, slow flow, yin yoga, warm yin, slow flow and meditation. Rue's background is in martial arts.
Originally from Ohio, Laura has been teaching for 2 years. She is certified in Bikram Yoga and Vinyasa RYS 200. She found her way to yoga 20 years ago while living in chilly San Francisco. Fed up with the weather, she walked into a Bikram Yoga studio and was instantly hooked. She is a big believer in less is more so that her students can continue to practice as they move into their kick ass years. Laura has two teenagers, an amazing husband and a crazy mutt, Pepper. Laura’s favorite pose is rabbit.
As a youth, Ayodele was exposed to many forms of ancient physical, mental, and spiritual practices. On a particular visit from college, her mother took her to a hot yoga class. Less than 20 minutes into the practice, while standing there, hot as all else, something clicked. It was like magic and she never looked backed. Beginning with a Hatha Raja practice, then moving to Bikram yoga, Ayodele has completed multiple trainings, and workshops, most recently including Core26+ and Thef Neteru Sema Paut.
